Overview
The Laramie County Conservation District (LCCD) Range & Wildlife Program works with landowners, livestock producers, and community partners to promote healthy, productive, and resilient rangelands throughout Laramie County. The program supports working lands while conserving the soil, water, vegetation, and wildlife resources that make rangelands an important part of the county’s landscape and agricultural economy.
LCCD provides technical assistance, educational resources, and opportunities for conservation projects that help landowners address rangeland management concerns and meet their individual property goals. Assistance may include grazing management, invasive and noxious weed management, rangeland monitoring, water development and conservation, wildlife habitat improvement, and restoration of degraded or disturbed areas. Wildlife habitat island program
This program supports landowners with small acreages in Laramie County with the establishment of pockets of native shrubs and forbs. These areas complement existing windbreaks, boosting plant diversity, enhancing food sources, and strengthening wildlife habitat and movement corridors. For more information, see our WHIP Flyer.
